Services & Schemes Covered Under Post Partum Programme-RGGWCH

Couples are counselled for all Temporary and Permanent Contraceptive methods.

1. PPIUCD & PAIUCD

Temporary methods of contraception. Beneficiaries accepting services are paid Rs.300/- by DBT payment from PUDUCHERRY STATE HEALTH MISSION, Puducherry.

2. Female Sterilization Methods

  • Laparoscopic Sterilization
  • LSCS with Sterilization
  • MTP with Sterilization
  • Sterilization within 7 days of Delivery (PS - Puerperal Sterilization)
  • Sterilization Beneficiaries are provided Rs.250/- for Non-BPL category & Rs.600/- for BPL Category.

The National Family Planning Insurance Scheme since 25 Nov 2005 has been modified into Family Planning Indemnity Scheme (FPIS) with effect from 1st April 2013.

Issuing of Sterilization Certificate after proper examination to the required beneficiaries.

The available benefits under the Family Planning Indemnity Scheme are as under

I C Failure of Sterilization Rs. 30,000/-
I D Cost of treatment in hospital and up to 60 days arising out of complication following sterilization operation (inclusive of complication during process of sterilization operation) form the date of discharge Actual not exceeding Rs. 25,000/-

3. JSY (JananiSurakshaYojana):

JananiSurakshaYojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neo-natal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among the poor pregnant women.

  • Tracking each Pregnancy: Each beneficiary registered under this Yojana should possess an MCH card. This will effectively help in monitoring Antenatal Check-up, and the post delivery care.
  • Eligibility for Cash Assistance: BPL Certification as the cash assistance to the mother is mainly to meet the cost of delivery.

Beneficiaries are tracked: Applications are distributed and collected for respective JSY beneficiaries delivering at RGGW&CH and send to the Mission Office NHM for DBT Payment. Under an URBAN PHC –Rs.600/- ; Under a RURAL PHC – Rs.700/-

4. JSSK (Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram):

JSSK Scheme for the pregnant women who opt for institutional deliveries.

The following are the Free Entitlements for pregnant Women & Sick newborns till 30 days after birth:

  • Free and cashless delivery
  • Free C-Section
  • Free drugs and consumables
  • Free diet during stay in health institutions
  • Free provision of blood
  • Exemption from user charges
  • Free transport between facilities in case of referral
  • Delivered mothers belonging to UT- of Puducherry are given Rs.500/- as Travelling Charges.

5. HMIS (Health Management Information System):

The overall hospital services and statistics are uploaded on-line on daily,monthly & annually along with the infrastructure reports.

6. SNCU ( Special New Born Care Unit):

On-line data entry made on UNICEF portal under NHM.

7. Online portal entry of Maternal Deaths/Near miss Death & Child Deaths.

  • In the event of a Maternal Death the benefits under the Family Planning Indemnity Scheme will be initiated immediately.
  • Near miss audit is conducted every month and recommendation for the work up is discussed with the responsible person and action is taken.
  • The details of admissions including name, mode of Delivery, date & time of delivery, initial diagonosis, course in SNCU, investigation details & discharge details and also mortality details like cause of death, date & time of death &age at death are reported onlinein UNICEF portal.
